Odoo Community support: the help Odoo S.A. does not sell.
Odoo Community is free, open source and runs a business well. What it does not come with is anyone to call. We host it on a server in your company's name, keep it patched and backed up, fix what breaks, and take it through each new version, at prices published on this site.
Or call us: +1 515-644-1400, any time. Managed Odoo price. How to start.
Allodi is run by Mark Kladivo in Des Moines, Iowa; his manufacturing company, Corn Belt Aluminum, is making the same move Allodi sells, to Odoo 19 Community on Hetzner with Backblaze backups. Read the case study.
What comes with Odoo Community, and what does not
Odoo S.A. publishes Community under the LGPL and sells support, upgrades and hosting with Enterprise. Its own comparison of the editions, published August 27, 2026, says Community "does not include direct functional support from the vendor or automatic upgrades to major versions" (Odoo blog). So someone else has to do that work: your own staff, a partner, or us.
| Part of the job | With Odoo Community alone | With Allodi Managed Odoo |
|---|---|---|
| Server and hosting | You find, build and pay for it | A Hetzner Cloud server in your company's name, built and run by us; you pay Hetzner directly |
| Security patches | Whoever looks after the server | Operating system and Odoo patches on a schedule you know about |
| Backups | Whatever you set up | Nightly to your own Backblaze bucket, checked daily, test-restored every month |
| Something breaks | Forums, GitHub issues, or a consultant by the hour | A ticket in the support portal and a block of fix hours every month |
| OCA and custom modules | Whoever wrote them, if they are still around | Installed, updated and fixed like any other module, and kept in your own code repository |
| New major version | OpenUpgrade, run yourself | An upgrade project at a published price, rehearsed on copies first |
What Managed Odoo includes for Community
- Monitoring from our own server around the clock, and a response to a server that is down within one business hour, best effort outside business hours, or within one hour at any time with the optional 24/7 outage response.
- Nightly database and filestore backups to your bucket, 30 daily backups kept, and a monthly test restore.
- A staging copy of production on your own server (8 GB of memory or more), neutralized so it sends no mail, refreshed when you ask; setting it up and refreshing it count against your included hours.
- Maintenance releases within your major version, tested on a copy first.
- Fix hours every month: 2 per company plus 15 minutes per internal user, pooled; more at $150 an hour, with your approval past 2 hours over.
- Allodi Print on Odoo 19: printing straight to the printers in your building.
The full list, and what is not part of hosting, is on the Odoo hosting page. How a fix gets made, with AI agents doing the legwork and a named person approving changes, is on How it works.
Leaving Enterprise for Community?
Many of our conversations start there. Each Enterprise app you use needs an OCA or Community replacement, or a decision to drop it. Our Enterprise to Community page covers how the switch runs and what it costs, and the app-by-app table for Odoo 19 shows what replaces what.
Still on Odoo 17 or earlier?
Odoo 17 left standard support in September 2026. What that means for a Community system, and why we recommend Odoo 19 as the next step.
What it costs
Every number is on the pricing page. Community has no Odoo license fee, so these are the whole bill apart from the server and backup storage, which Hetzner and Backblaze charge you directly.
Every month
- Managed Odoo: $75 for the first company plus $15 per internal user
- Portal users are free
- Month to month, thirty days' notice
Once, to start
- Rescue and rehost onto your server: $750 per database, plus $125 for each additional company in it
- Fixed price from the free scan's counts

- Other work at $150 an hour, quoted before it starts
Questions people ask
Does Odoo S.A. offer support for Odoo Community?
Not as a product. Odoo's own comparison of the editions, published August 27, 2026, says Community "does not include direct functional support from the vendor or automatic upgrades to major versions", and lists support and migrations as managed by the client or a partner. Functional support, version upgrades and hosting are Enterprise features on Odoo's editions page.
Can we get support without buying Odoo Enterprise?
Yes. Managed Odoo covers Community the same way it covers Enterprise: the server, backups, monitoring, patches, a support portal and a block of fix hours every month, at $75 a month for the first company plus $15 per internal user. There is no Odoo license to buy for Community.
Which Odoo Community versions do you support?
Odoo 16 and later, on the version you run today; an older version is upgraded first. For production we recommend Odoo 19 today.
Can you upgrade Odoo Community to a new version?
Yes. Community upgrades use OpenUpgrade, the OCA's public migration scripts, one major version at a time, rehearsed on copies of your database before production. Each upgrade is priced from our published list. Our article on OpenUpgrade 18 to 19 shows where its coverage stands.
Do you support OCA modules?
Yes. OCA modules are ordinary Odoo modules with public source code, so we install, update and fix them like any other module on your server, and include them in upgrades.
Does our Odoo have to move to your server?
If it already runs on a server you own that meets our minimum specification, it can stay there, with a one-time $375 onboarding fee. Otherwise it moves to a Hetzner Cloud project in your company's name, billed to you by Hetzner, through a one-time rescue and rehost project.
Running Odoo Community with nobody to call?
Start with the free scan. It counts what the price depends on without changing anything in your database, and the quote comes from the published prices.
- Plans, add-ons and hourly rates are published; larger projects are quoted up front, and the project fees in the free scan's quote are binding for what the scan counts.
- On a move, the start milestone is refunded if your database cannot run on the new server, unless the cause is on your side or a third party refuses to release your data (conditions).
- Managed Odoo is month to month: thirty days' notice, no minimum term.
- Your server, code, backups and credentials are in your company's name.
