Odoo hosting on a server in your name, with backups you control.
Your Odoo runs on a Hetzner Cloud server in your company's own account and backs up every night to a Backblaze B2 bucket your company owns. Allodi runs it for you each month. If you stop paying us, it keeps running; only Allodi Print goes back to Odoo's standard PDF download.
Already use AWS, Azure or another cloud? Your server can live there instead, in your company's account (pricing).

Allodi is run by Mark Kladivo in Des Moines, Iowa; his manufacturing company, Corn Belt Aluminum, is making the same move Allodi sells, to Odoo 19 Community on Hetzner with Backblaze backups. Read the case study.
What you own, and who pays whom
Hosting accounts are often in the provider's or the partner's name. Here every piece sits in an account your company opens, and the only thing you buy from us is the work of running it.
| Part | Where it lives | Who you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Server | A Hetzner Cloud project owned by your company. You give us an API token for it, and you can delete it. | Hetzner, directly. Usually about $40 to $75 a month. |
| Backups | A private Backblaze B2 bucket in your company's account. The server's key can add and read backups but cannot delete them; Backblaze removes old copies itself after 30 days. | Backblaze, directly. Usually a few dollars a month. |
| Code | A git repository in your company's GitHub or GitLab account, with every custom module and every change committed. | Your existing plan, often free. |
| Odoo license | Community is free under the LGPL. If you keep Enterprise, the subscription stays between you and Odoo S.A. | Odoo S.A., for Enterprise only. |
| Running it | Managed Odoo from Allodi: security patching, backups and backup checks, restore tests and small fixes. | Allodi, monthly, cancel with thirty days' notice. |
As of September 2026, Hetzner Cloud has US locations in Ashburn, Virginia and Hillsboro, Oregon, EU locations in Falkenstein and Nuremberg, Germany and Helsinki, Finland, and a location in Singapore (Hetzner's list). We set servers up in the US, German and Finnish locations, the ones our data processing agreement names. US and Canadian companies usually pick a US location; EU/EEA, UK and Swiss companies can keep their data in the EU under our data processing agreement; companies elsewhere usually pick the closest of those locations.
What Managed Odoo includes
Hosting is only useful if someone is watching it. This is what the monthly fee pays for.
- Operating system and Odoo security patches, on a schedule you know about.
- Monitoring from our own server: your login page and its certificate, checked from outside your network every 5 minutes; disk, memory, load, the Odoo and database services, backups, security updates and scheduled actions every 15 minutes. A problem opens a ticket for us around the clock; a server that is down gets a response within one business hour, best effort outside business hours, or within one hour at any time with the optional 24/7 outage response, which includes your own direct emergency line to the on-call person ($150 a month, or $7.50 per internal user if that is more).
- Nightly database and filestore backups to your Backblaze bucket, a daily check that last night's backup arrived, 30 daily backups kept, point-in-time recovery of the database to any moment in the last 29 days (how that works), and a test restore onto a scratch server every month.
- A staging copy of production on your own server (8 GB of memory or more), neutralized so it sends no mail, refreshed when you ask; setting it up and refreshing it count against your included hours.
- Failed outgoing email alerting (we know within about 15 minutes), and a check on SPF, DKIM and bounce handling when you join.
- A monthly summary: uptime, incidents, backups, test restores and updates applied.
- Maintenance releases within your major version, tested on a copy first.
- A block of small-fix hours every month, and a support portal where every ticket, proposed fix and approval is recorded.
- Allodi Print on Odoo 19: printing from Odoo straight to the printers in your building, at no extra charge.
Not part of hosting
Major version upgrades are their own project (see upgrading to Odoo 19). So are new modules beyond the included hours, bookkeeping itself, and Odoo Enterprise or other license fees. Getting your Odoo onto the new server in the first place is rescue and rehost.
Point-in-time recovery, on top of nightly backups
A nightly backup alone means a restore can lose up to a day of work. Managed Odoo adds point-in-time recovery: the database can go back to a moment you choose.
How it works
Every night the database and your attachments are backed up to your own Backblaze bucket, and 30 daily restore points are kept. In addition, the database's transaction logs are archived continuously to the same bucket. With them, the database can be restored to a moment you choose within the most recent 29 days, up to the most recent archived log, and not only to a nightly backup.
An example: a bad import runs at 2:14 in the afternoon. The database can be restored to 2:13. Restoring production to 2:13 also removes everything entered after 2:13. You can ask for a restore to a test copy first and check it there.
This applies to the database. Attachments (the filestore) come from the daily copy nearest to the moment you choose.
Asking for a restore
You ask for a restore in the support portal. A restore to a test copy counts against your included fix hours. A restore to production needs written approval from your authorized contact and is done by a person.
What we watch, and the limit
Monitoring raises a priority 1 alert if log archiving falls behind, with logs waiting more than 2 hours, and if unarchived logs have to be removed, so a gap is noticed.
The limit: if archiving to the bucket fails while the server's disk is nearly full, the server stops keeping unarchived logs so that production keeps running, and recovery then has a gap until the next daily backup.

What it costs
All prices are published. The monthly fee follows what you can count in your own Odoo.
Managed Odoo, monthly
- $75 for the first company
- $37.50 for each additional company
- $12.50 for each branch (Odoo 17 and later)
- $15 for each internal user; portal users are free
Included fix time
- 2 hours per company plus 15 minutes per internal user, every month, pooled
- Beyond that, $150 an hour; we warn you before going over.
Example
- One company, 10 internal users: $75 + $150 = $225 a month, with 4.5 fix hours included
- Plus Hetzner and Backblaze, billed to you directly
Month to month, with thirty days' notice to cancel. Moving an existing Odoo onto your new server is a one-time rescue and rehost fee of $750 per database, plus $125 for each additional company in it, and Managed Odoo starts at cutover. The price calculator works out your number.
Compared with Odoo Online and Odoo.sh
Odoo S.A. offers two hosted options of its own. Both are good products for the right company. This is how they differ from a server you own, based on Odoo's published documentation and terms in September 2026.
| Odoo Online | Odoo.sh | Your server, run by Allodi | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who hosts it | Odoo S.A. | Odoo S.A., on its platform, built from your git repository | Your company's Hetzner account; Allodi runs it |
| Edition | Enterprise | Enterprise, on the Custom plan, plus Odoo.sh hosting fees | Community, or Enterprise on the Custom plan |
| Custom code | Custom modules and Apps Store modules are not supported. Python-based customizations made in the database, for example with Studio, are billed per 100 lines of code under Odoo's current Enterprise agreement | Yes, from your repository | Yes, from your repository |
| Versions | Major and intermediate versions; upgrades are mandatory on Odoo's schedule and included | Major versions | Major versions; you choose when to upgrade |
| Access | No direct database access | A shell and SSH into the build's container, including psql | Full server and database access, and root access is yours |
| Backups | Run by Odoo; you can download one from the database manager | Daily; Odoo keeps 7 daily, 4 weekly and 3 monthly copies, downloadable from the Backups tab | Nightly to your own Backblaze bucket, 30 daily backups plus point-in-time recovery for the last 29 days, with a monthly restore test |
| A good fit when | Standard apps, no custom code, and the least effort possible | Enterprise with custom modules and developers who like its branch-based workflow | You want to own the server, run Community or custom code, and have one accountable party each month |
Where Odoo's own hosting is better
Odoo Online includes Odoo's upgrades and needs no server at all. Odoo.sh gives developers a staging branch built from production at the push of a button. If those matter more to you than ownership, staying is the right call, and we will say so in the first conversation. On price alone, Odoo.sh hosting is often cheaper for a small database; our Odoo.sh vs self-hosted cost comparison shows the arithmetic.
Where a server you own is better
You choose the edition, the version and the upgrade date. You can run OCA and custom modules, reach the database directly for reporting, and keep a fixed address for integrations that allowlist IPs. And the day you stop working with us, nothing moves, except that Allodi Print goes back to Odoo's standard PDF download. Leaving Odoo.sh? Read what travels and what does not. Leaving Online? Check the intermediate-version trap first.
Questions people ask
Who owns the server?
Your company. The Hetzner Cloud project is opened in your company's name and Hetzner bills you for it. You give us access with an API token made in your project, and you can delete it whenever you choose.
What happens if we stop using Allodi?
Give us thirty days' notice. The server, the backups and the code repository are already yours, and the credentials we create are recorded where you can reach them, so everything keeps working. The one exception is Allodi Print: printing goes back to Odoo's standard PDF download. Within ten business days, at no charge, we take a final backup to your bucket, hand over the credentials we created, and then remove our own access.
Do you add a margin to Hetzner or Backblaze?
No. You pay Hetzner and Backblaze directly, at their own prices. Our fee is the Managed Odoo price on the pricing page and nothing else.
Can we keep Odoo Enterprise?
Yes. Enterprise on your own server needs Odoo's Custom plan, and your subscription stays with Odoo S.A. If you are on the Standard plan today, which is sold for Odoo Online only, expect the per-user list price to roughly double. That is why many companies leaving Online also look at moving to Community.
Which Odoo version will we run?
The one you run today, if it is Odoo 16 or later; an older version is upgraded first. Moving and upgrading are separate steps, so nothing changes version during the move. For production we recommend Odoo 19 today. Odoo 20 was released in September 2026, and like every new major version it will need a few months of fixes before we recommend it for day-to-day business.
Who actually does the work?
People at Allodi, with AI agents doing much of the legwork, such as reading logs and preparing a proposed fix with a dry run. Changes outside a short list of pre-approved routine actions need approval from a named person at Allodi, and so, always, does anything that deploys code, touches money, tax, user access or security settings, sends messages from your Odoo, or migrates or restores production. How it works shows the whole approval flow.
Can the server be in our own building instead?
Yes, if it runs Ubuntu 24.04, meets our minimum specification and sits behind a UPS. The monthly price is the same, plus a one-time $375 onboarding fee. Backups still go offsite to your own Backblaze account. The details are under Managed Odoo.
